The Truth About Darfur

The Truth About Darfur

History Is Repeating Itself.

Six decades after America promised “never again” to repeat the holocast and 12 years after the genocide in Rewanda, the situation in darfur is called “a genocide in slow motion.” The genocide in Darfur has killed 350,000 to 400,000 people in 29 months with violence, diseases, and bad food in the first genocidal rampage of the 21st century. The victims are from non-Arab or African tribal groups of Darfur, primarily the Fur, the Massaleit, and the Zaghawa, but also the Tunjur, the Birgid, the Dajo, and others.

How did it start? The Darfur Liberation Front is a group of people who took credit for having an attack on Golo, which is headquarters of Jebel Marra District. Before DLF had this attack there was a conflict because rebels in Darfur had already attacked police stations, army posts ect. So the government made a huge land and air assault on the rebels in the Marrah Mountains. The rebels first succesful attack was on the army in the mountains on Febuary 25,2002. The sundanese had been warned by the Golo police. Later on in June 2002 they had found out by a group of people called the Chroniclers that a group of the Zaghawa and the Fur met in Abu Gamra and swore on the Qur’an that they would work and fight against any government attacks on their villages.
